St. Patrick´s Day 2015
On Tuesday, March 17th we celebrated St. Patrick´s day here at Manuel Luis Acuña. St. Patrick´s day is a holiday that celebrates Irish tradition, heritage, and immigration throughout the world. This day is a national holday in Ireland when schools, banks, and businesses are closed. Celebrations for St. Patrick´s Day also take place in many countries with large populations of Irish immigrants such as the United States, Great Britain, Australia, Russia, Japan, and Singapore. In our school we celebrated by learning about St. Patrick´s day good luck traditions such as finding a four leaf clover, wearing green, and catching a Leprechaun (litte Irish ¨duende¨). We also learned about St. Patrick´s day parades throughought the world, watchd Irish Step Dancing, and listened to traditional Irish music. We decorated our faces with shamrocks to celebrate this special day, and the english teachers came dressed all in green! The classroom lit up with smiles and shamrocks the entire day, and there was happiness all around. Here´s to hoping we all have luck of the Irish for the rest of 2015!
