EASTER 2015
This year we had a fantastic Easter celebration in English class at Manuel Luis Acuña. When the students arrived to class before semana Santa they were greeted with a presentation about Easter traditions in English speaking countries, easter egg decorating, and face painting activities. We talked about the tradition of the Easter Bunny, which is a much like Santa Claus during Christmas. The Easter Bunny brings sweets and small toys to children the night before Easer to celebrate the children´s good behavior. We also talked about the tradition of dyeing or decorating easter eggs where kids, their friends and family all decorate easter eggs in any way they wish to! After the eggs are all decorated, there is often an easter egg hunt where the adults hide the eggs and the children are tasked with finding them! We watched short videos about Easter starring Bugs Bunny, Peppa Pig, and Goofy. During class the children each had an easter egg with colors and patterns of their choosing painted on their face. It was another great day filled with smiles and laughter in our school!!
